Internal Medicine

Internal medicine describes the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through science and clinical diagnostics. Our focus is on promoting health and preventing disease. At Gateway Natural Medicine & Diagnostic Center, we treat all areas of health concerns and see conditions in the context of the body as a whole system. A few, but not all, areas we look at, include: cardiovascular health, metabolic disease, gastroenterology, kidney function, lung health, autoimmune disease, hormonal imbalances, neurological disfunction, and inflammatory conditions. We utilize a holistic approach to identify and treat the root cause of each disease and illness by advising on overall health and wellness.

Our team of DABCI physicians (Diplomates of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists) utilize the latest medical diagnostic tools, as well as specialized functional diagnostics to determine where imbalances and issue originates. We routinely employ methods, such as: blood laboratory studies, urinalyses, electrocardiograms, vascular Doppler ultrasounds, spirometry, DEXA bone density testing, saliva cortisol testing, hormone panels, adrenal fatigue testing, neurotransmitter analysis, food allergy testing, diagnostic imaging, comprehensive gastrointestinal stool analyses, among others. Our therapies and treatments emphasize minimally invasive approaches, minimized risk to the patient, and a focus on treating the cause rather than just the symptoms. We use treatments such as clinical nutrition, dietetics, exercise, nutraceuticals, vitamin and mineral supplementation, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, acupuncture, natural hormone balancing, and pharmacologic counseling. Many conditions and diseases can be resolved and managed by combining these more natural methods with science-based diagnostics with physicians who genuinely care about your health.

Internal medicine practitioners collaborate to ensure all areas of health are addressed.
As a patient, you have access to a whole team of functional medicine practitioners who continually collaborate to provide a holistic approach to your healthcare.

Each of our practitioners is dually certified in internal medicine, as well as chiropractic care. We refer to them as Chiropractic Internists. This means that you have the benefit of working with someone who understands ALL areas of the body and how dysfunction in one area may lead to a manifestation as physical or musculoskeletal pain.
