Wellness and Prevention Physicals
We offer physical exams in Berthoud, CO for the whole family, from well woman and well male exams to pre-employment and DOT physicals to well-child check-ups. Below is our full menu of physical exams.
Well Woman Exam
Women age 18 and over
- Complete health history and risk assessment consultation
- Thorough physical exam of all major organ systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, ear/eyes/nose/throat, abdominal and pelvic, musculoskeletal, and neurological
- Breast exam and self-exam education
- Screening laboratory testing: full blood chemistry panel, lipid assessment, blood sugar, complete blood count, thyroid assessment, and urinalysis
Well Male Exam
Men age 18 and over
- Complete health history and risk assessment consultation
- Thorough physical exam of all major organ systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, ear/eyes/nose/throat, abdominal and pelvic, musculoskeletal, and neurological
- Testicular exam and self-exam education
- DRE (prostate exam)
- Screening laboratory testing: full blood chemistry panel, PSA, lipid assessment, blood sugar, complete blood count, thyroid assessment, and urinalysis
*Based on individual health history and concerns, additional testing may be recommended for either exam, including EKG, comprehensive cardiovascular testing, lung function testing, cytology testing or cultures, and more advanced blood work.
Pre-Employment Physicals
A complete health history and thorough physical exam of all major organ systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, ear/eyes/nose/throat, abdominal and pelvic, musculoskeletal, and neurological.
Sports Physicals
Required for school athletics and most youth sports leagues, our sports physicals cover the cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal screening needed to clear student-athletes to play, plus a review of personal and family health history for anything that could affect safe participation. We’ll fill out and sign whatever form your school or league requires, and we can usually get you in quickly before the season deadline.
DOT Physicals
If you drive commercially, the Department of Transportation (DOT) requires a current medical certificate to keep your commercial driver’s license valid. Our DOT physicals are performed by a certified examiner listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, so your certification is accepted anywhere it’s required.
The exam covers vision and hearing screening, blood pressure and pulse, urinalysis, and a physical exam of the major organ systems relevant to safe driving. Most drivers are certified for up to two years, though some health conditions call for a shorter certification period. We can usually get you in quickly so a DOT physical doesn’t hold up your job or your route.
Well Child / Baby Check-Ups
For our youngest patients, wellness starts early in life with regular check-ups. Building a strong and healthy immune system early is immensely important to avoid immune system dysfunction later in life. Our well visits include vital signs and growth charts for you to take home. The doctor will examine the eyes, nose, throat, heart, lungs, musculoskeletal system, and abdomen. Most importantly, children who learn the value of an annual exam to stay well grow up to be healthy-minded adults.
