Infant Chiropractic & Care
Infant chiropractic care in Berthoud, CO starts with the understanding that birth is a big first experience for a tiny body. Dr. Hayley Nick uses gentle, low-force chiropractic care, often alongside craniosacral therapy, to support babies through feeding struggles, torticollis, and tongue-tie, using techniques that use only the amount of pressure you would use to check a tomato for ripeness.
Feeding Struggles & Latch Difficulties
A difficult latch, fatigue after only a few minutes of feeding, or frequent fussiness at the breast or bottle can come from restrictions in a baby’s neck, jaw, or cranial bones, especially after a long or difficult delivery. We assess your baby’s movement and tension patterns and use gentle techniques to help them feed more comfortably and efficiently.
Torticollis
Torticollis is a tightening of the muscles on one side of a baby’s neck that causes the head to tilt or turn to one side. It is common after birth, particularly after a tight fit in the womb or a difficult delivery, and left unaddressed it can contribute to flat spots on the skull and uneven motor development. We work to gently restore range of motion and symmetry, and coach parents on positioning and stretches to reinforce progress between visits.
Tongue-Tie (Oral Ties)
A tongue-tie, or oral tie, restricts a baby’s tongue movement and can affect feeding, latch, and even sleep. If a release procedure is recommended, chiropractic and craniosacral care are often used alongside it, both before and after, to help release compensatory tension that has built up in the jaw, neck, and head, and to support an easier recovery.
What to Expect at Your Baby’s First Visit
We start with a full conversation about your pregnancy, delivery, and what you are noticing day to day, then a gentle hands-on assessment. Techniques for infants are extremely light, often combining chiropractic adjustments with craniosacral therapy.
